The plot was a poorly maintained orchard on a sloping site with beautiful alpine meadows on two sides and a stunning view of the mountains. The design created a winding path through the orchard so that the swimming pool was a hidden surprise. The pool area consisted of a 9.5m x 4.5m pool with 60m wooden terrace providing space for 10-person outside dining table, covered bar area with fridge and storage space, and space for 10 sun beds and two loungers. Some trees had to be cut down however I kept two large and healthy fruit trees which the terrace was built around to give a unique charm and to provide shade for the hot summer days. The design had to comply with strict planning regulations including enclosing the pool with a 1.1m high fence from ground level which was challenging with the slope of the site. The finished pool with stunning mountain views delighted summer holiday guests who returned each year to enjoy it.
